  • GÉANT 

The GÉANT (GN1) project was co-funded by the European Commission as part of its Fifth Research & Development Framework Programme. GN1 was a contract between 26 National Research and Education Networks (NRENs), DANTE and the European Commission. It began in November 2000 and finished end of October 2004. DANTE was the co-ordinating partner of the project.

  • GÉANT2 

The GÉANT2 network will provide the high-performance, state-of-the-art network infrastructure that is fundamental to the European Union's vision of a European Research Area (ERA). The network is the core activity of a coherent set of initiatives that seek to develop all aspects of European research and education networking.

  • TEIN2 

TEIN2 is a project that began in spring 2004 to improve research and education IP connectivity between Europe and the Asia-Pacific region, and within Asia Pacific for the benefit of developing ASEM countries. The project is to be largely funded by the European Commission, and will be supported by a number of Asian and European partners. It is intended to contribute to the further development of the Trans-Eurasia Information Network (TEIN) initiative.

  • APAN 
APAN (Asia-Pacific Advanced Network) is a non-profit international consortium established in June 1997. It is designed to be a high-performance network for research and development on advanced next generation applications and services. APAN provides an advanced networking environment for the research and education community in the Asia-Pacific region, and promotes global collaboration.

  • EGEE
The EGEE project brings together experts from over 27 countries with the common aim of building on recent advances in Grid technology and developing a service Grid infrastructure that is available to scientists 24 hours-a-day.

The project provides researchers in academia and industry with access to major computing resources, independent of their geographic location. The EGEE project focuses also on attracting a wide range of new users to the Grid. EGEE is one of the largest IST projects ever approved.

  • EGEE Asia Federation

Within the EGEE project, the Asia Federation helps extend the EGEE project into the Asia-Pacific region. The federation has grown to be one of the largest in EGEE with 20 production EGEE sites spanning across 8 countries. Within the Asia Federations ASGC has established the Asia-Pacific Regional Operations Centre (APROC) since April of 2005. The mission of APROC is to provide operations support in the Asia-Pacific region to facilitate the expansion of the Grid and maximize the availability and accessibility of Grid services.

  • EuChinaGrid
EUChinaGRID is an initiative to extend the European GRID infrastructure for e-Science to China.The first aim of EUChinaGRID will be to facilitate scientific data transfer and processing in a first sample of application areas that have already strong collaborations between Europe and China. These pilot applications will immediately profit of the new infrastructure, and will be subsequently regarded as the driving force to test and deploy an effective grid infrastructure between Europe and China.

  • EUIndiaGrid

The EC-funded EU-IndiaGrid is building a networked e-Science Community between Europe and India by developing a common Grid infrastructure to support data processing for scientific application areas: Atmospheric and Earth Sciences, Biology, High Energy Physics, and Material Science. EU-IndiaGrid supports interconnectivity between the European Grid infrastructure, EGEE, and the Indian Grid infrastructures, (Garuda India Grid - and Department of Atomic Energy Grid), delivering an advanced infrastructure for scientific and industrial collaborations across Europe and India.

  • WISDOM
WISDOM (Wide In Silico Docking on Malaria) is an international collaboration, created in 2005, to show the relevance of grid technology to help the research about emerging and neglected diseases. It has been focussing first on Malaria and then extended to other diseases like flu. The mission of WISDOM is to gather researchers, to deploy biomedical applications on grid to find potential new drugs and to develop a grid production environment for such large scale deployments
