WP3 Requirements
From EUAGwiki
INFN
Requirements: we are involved in the user support for the HEP applications, mainly CMS and ATLAS. We rely on our contacts in the experiments and in the WP2 survey to solicit new T2 sites to use the EGEE infrastructure.
Means: support from ASGC and from T2 in the Asia Pacific region
CESNET
Requirements: We are currently investing effort into running computational chemistry applications for Asian partners expressing their interest in this domain - both free and commercial solution should be available either through high-level middleware tools available within EUAsiGRID VO or through dedicated application-centric VOs.
Means: substantial help from ASGC, active partners declaring their interest
UNIMAN
Requirements: we are progressing work to port the population reconstruction application to EGEE, should be finished in February. After this we will need support from ASGC to help the Center for Survey Research in Taiwan to provide data for a trial run in Taiwan. Alex is currently looking at the Repast Agent Simulation Toolkit to explore possible uses in developing small-scale demonstrations of social simulation.
Means: support from ASGC
HealthGrid
Requirements: We are involved in the user support for biomedical applications. We are working on defining the portfolio of available applications in Asia Pacific area as well as the ones already deployed on the EGEE infrastructure which could be deployed in the region. A survey is ongoing and should be analyzed in the coming days.
Means:support from ASGC and active participation of all Asian partners. Involvement of CNRS
AdMU
Requirements:
We are involved in Biomedical Applications and Disaster Mitigation. We are also looking into how our institution can contribute to the e-Social Science applications. We have now a specific application in cancer informatics that required gridification process.
Means:
Support from ASGC.

Requirements: We are involved in HEP, Computational Chemistry, Biomedical, Disaster Mitigation, and e-Social Science applications in the project, and also support the utilization of EUAsiaGrid resources. Key point at this moment is to have more user communities of each partners to be engaged.
Means: We will provide currently available applications with step-by-step deployment and usage description for partners reference. The first one will be the virtual screening services for drug discovery.
ASTI
Requirements: We are currently configuring the gLite components.
Means: support from ASGC
HAII
Requirements:
a) We are in the process of setting up a VO environment as storage site.
b) Our focus is to establish a data grid equipped with small applications that can prepare the data for hydrological modelling in the future (3-5 years). The applications are
- data assimilation using harmonic analysis technique; and
- satellite image processing using remote sensing data (e.g. MODIS, SST, SAR Radar) for forecast, monitoring, and climate outlook.
Means:
a) support from ASGC
b) new application development, and, support from ASGC

We will identify potential Malaysian scientific communities with specific interest on Computational Chemistry and Biomed. Thus, information on scientific requirement capture and analysis that will be based on WP2 Survey is required in order to provide support for EGEE applications (or regional applications if required) in these two areas.
Means:
1. Support for EGEE/regional applications specifically for Computational Chemistry and Biomed.
2. Provide, maintain and operate computational resources for Malaysian scientific communities. Currently, we have one gLite infrastructure that is connected to EGEE (consists of a worker node with 16 CPUs and some nominal storage resource). Additional nodes and storage will be added when necessary.
3. Enable gLite-PGrade Portal for Malaysian scientific communities.
